The Iran Language Institute, previously known as Iran America Society, was established in 1925 in Tehran. In the past, Iran America Society provided various educational services including teaching English to business people and employees in both public and private sectors, and also teaching Persian to speakers of other languages.
After the Islamic Revolution, affiliated with the Institute for the Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults, this educational center expanded its language teaching services under the name of the Iran Language Institute (ILI).
Currently, having more than 290 centers in over 131 cities, the ILI offers courses in English, French, German, Arabic, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Chinese to more than 1,200,000 students per year. At present, Dr. Mahdi Zolfaghari is the Managing Director of the Iran Language Institute.
